Welcome to Longhouse Crete, whether this is your first time in Crete or you are a seasoned visitor to this beautiful Island, we hope you enjoy your stay.
Getting to know Longhouse
We are sure by now you’ll have explored the Villa and decided who is sleeping where! But as with any Villa Rental, there will be things that you might need a bit of help with.
In the first instance, we would say if there is anything not quite as you would expect then please contact Marianna, our English-speaking contact here in Crete you can click the link or head to the Contact page or the footer of the website to get her details.
The Kitchen/Utility Area
The appliances in the Kitchen are made by Neff and Varazzo and the instruction manual can be found in the information file. You will find Plates, Cups, Cutlery, Glassware, etc in the kitchen. We would kindly ask that you only use the plastic/non-breakable glasses in the pool area, please.
WiFi/High Speed Internet
The Villa is equipped with High-Speed Broadband throughout, the Wifi Key is kept in the information file. If you need to reset the hub this can be found in the Utility Room Cupboard.
The Media Room
The air-conditioned Media Room can be found leading off the entrance courtyard there is an air-conditioned dedicated media room that gives you a cool escape from the sun to indulge in a large plasma screen television, films, box sets, and various PS4 games, all we ask is please return the games back to their relevant box after you have finished with them.
The Gym/Spitaki Living Space
The Living Space in the Spitaki also doubles as a Gym when the owners are there on their own.
Depending on how many people are in your party you may prefer to have the living space as a lounge/dining space, in which case you are more than welcome to set the Gym equipment up under the covered terrace outside the Spitaki.
The Office/Dressing Room
If you are intending to work whilst you are at Longhouse then the Dressing Room which is located adjacent to the Chrysanthemum and Jasmine Rooms also makes a convenient home office.
Further a Field
Once you’ve got your bearings you’ll probably want to venture a bit further a field.
Vamos is the nearest town, approx 10 minutes by car and it has an extensive 24 hr health centre and the usual facilities such as bank with ATM, petrol stations, butcher, baker, grocery shops, bars, tavernas…
For food shopping
We go to the seaside town of Kalives about 15 mins away by car.
There is a super collection of small private shops, including:
Mini markets for fruit and veg, local produce specialities, fresh fish, butcher, baker, wine warehouse emporium, computer shop, restaurants, coffee bars. There is also a well-stocked supermarket.
